FOOTBALL IN HIGH HEELS: IRONMAN PREP WEEK 3

FOOTBALL IN HIGH HEELS: IRONMAN PREP WEEK 3FOOTBALL IN HIGH HEELS: IRONMAN PREP WEEK 3

Okay, you guys. I have a confession to make. I didn’t train as hard as I should have this week. Between work, feeling under the weather and stress in my personal life, I was not in the best place. I did get several workouts in, but not as hard as intense as I usually do.

As for my diet, I did pretty well. I admit to drinking Diet Coke again, but not as many as I used to drink. I upped my protein and veggies and have been pretty good about making healthy choices. Yes, I still have my treats, but try and make sure everything else is healthy and balanced. (Special thanks to my friend Jennifer for motivating me with the 5 day clean eating challenge!)

This week, my goals are a bit different. Not only am I doing my running, biking and finally beginning my swimming, but I am also doing a new workout plan that Jennifer recommended. It is called Hammer and Chisel from Beachbody and something I was curious about for a long time. If all goes well, I will add more of their programs into my workouts and perhaps even become a coach myself!

I am also trying the Shakeology protein powders in addition to my Juice Plus powders to see which one works best. As for food, I have healthy snacks such as string cheese, carrots and clementines, almond milk and fruit for my protein shakes and am planning out my meals for the week. Breakfast and lunch are usually difficult because I am usually not hungry in the morning and too lazy to pack a lunch for work. Luckily, my job has healthy food readily available and I received a thermos for Christmas that will allow me to bring soups and other hot, healthy foods.

On another note, I signed up for my first triathlon…which is next weekend. ::gulp:: I know it is coming up fast, but I figured it is my way of getting into it feet first. It is an indoor one at the YMCA where I work and consists of 10 minutes of swimming, indoor biking and running on a treadmill. It may not seem like a big deal, but for me, it is huge for two reasons: my first triathlon and making this whole thing real and the first time in forever that I’ve worn a swimsuit in public on purpose in front of people. I haven’t done THAT since Bush was in office. (okay, maybe that is an exaggeration, but not by much.)

I will keep you all posted on everything and as always, thanks for supporting me and tuning into Football In High Heels.
