New Approach to Live Event Counterprogramming Offers Viewers a Way to Skip the Ads Without Missing the Action

New York, NY; January 25, 2016 — Frixxer, the world’s first micro-content television programming designed to enable viewers to skip the ads, today announced the first counterprogramming alternative to the Super Bowl’s scheduled commercials. Frixxer’s big game content will air February 7 starting at 4pm EST on the Youtoo network and stream online, taking the concept nationwide for the first time.

Frixxer will enable fans to switch to live sports related video content on the youtoo channel.  It is designed to work alongside any live TV event, from the Super Bowl to award shows, and the recent trend of live televised musicals. By engaging with Frixxer’s programming, advertisers can increase their market impact without alienating the viewer base they are attempting to reach.

The company’s goal is to end channel surfing which can cause viewers to miss parts of the game and messages delivered in commercials, causing sponsors to reconsider ad purchases potentially leading to lost revenue by network broadcasters.  Frixxer provides a solution with a content platform that retains viewer interest with micro-programming that will be broadcast live during the entirety of the Super Bowl.

Frixxer will offer a wide variety of entertaining content from comedy to sports trivia. Each micro-program lasts about 30 seconds and are grouped together to fit within game breaks. When commercials are broadcast during the game, a viewer can flip the channel to watch Frixxer’s short videos. A green light icon will flash on the screen’s corner alerting viewers that the game broadcast is resuming.

Making a Super Bowl Party a Super Party
The videos are designed to engage participants and bolster the experience of fans at a Super Bowl party. They are also platforms for embedded advertising, content marketing and sponsorship opportunities from outside companies. The emphasis is on quality of content with organically integrated ad messaging without the distraction of a formal commercial.

The micro-programming Frixxer will provide is hosted live by Mark Edwards and includes the following:

·         “Lying Game”: Shot in a sports bar, Chuck offers two truths and one lie about a sports star.   Fans must decide which the lie is.

·         “The Scramble”: Viewers have ten seconds to un-jumble a players’ name.

·         “Need to Know”: Host Mark Edwards offers random facts of football information such as the number of pigs it takes to make a season’s worth of footballs.

·         “The Feed”: The most bizarre Tweets of the day.

·         “Thrills & Spills”: Extreme sports clips from air, land and sea.

·         “Rules & Regs”: Everything you wanted to know about the game, but were afraid to ask.
