Stanley Cup Playoff Schedule for 4/15

NBC Sports Group’s comprehensive coverage of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs continues tonight with a pair of Game 3 doubleheaders on NBCSN and CNBC, beginning at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN, when Brad Marchand and the (2) Boston Bruins face Auston Matthews and the (3) Toronto Maple Leafs, with their series tied at one game apiece.

NBCSN’s doubleheader continues at 9:30 p.m. ET, as P.K. Subban and the (1) Nashville Predators visit Tyler Seguin and the (WC1) Dallas Stars with the series tied 1-1.

Tonight’s coverage on CNBC begins at 7 p.m. ET, as Justin Williams and the (WC1) Carolina Hurricanes look to avoid a 3-0 series deficit against Alex Ovechkin and the defending Stanley Cup champion (1) Washington Capitals.

The action on CNBC shifts west to Denver at 10 p.m. ET, when Nathan MacKinnonand the (WC2) Colorado Avalanche host Johnny Gaudreau and the (1) Calgary Flames, with the series knotted at one game apiece.

Pre-game coverage begins tonight at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN with NHL Live.

FLORIDA PANTHERS DEFENSEMAN KEITH YANDLE TO SERVE AS GUEST STUDIO ANALYST TONIGHT AND TUESDAY

Florida Panthers defenseman Keith Yandle will join NBC Sports’ Stanley Cup Playoffs coverage as a guest studio analyst today, April 15, and Tuesday, April 16. A 13-year NHL veteran, Yandle played parts of nine seasons with the Coyotes organization, including the first seven games of his NHL career during the 2006-07 season, when he skated alongside former Coyote and current NHL on NBC analyst Jeremy Roenick. Yandle was Florida’s representative at the 2019 NHL All-Star Game, and recently completed his third season as a member of the Panthers where he currently serves as an alternate captain.

MIKE TIRICO TO CALL GAME 4 OF ISLANDERS-PENGUINS ON TUESDAY ON NBCSN

Mike Tirico will handle play-by-play duties for Game 4 between the New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins this Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Tirico called the first two NHL games of his 30-year career earlier this season. During an illustrious broadcasting career spanning three decades, Tirico has served in lead play-by-play roles for coverage of the NFL, NBA, tennis, golf, college football, college basketball, and college lacrosse.

Tirico will be joined by analyst Eddie Olczyk and ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Brian Boucher. The Islanders lead the series 3-0.

TONIGHT – APRIL 15 – NHL LIVE BEGINS AT 6 P.M ET ON NBCSN

NHL Live, hosted by Liam McHugh, Keith Jones and Keith Yandle, begins at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Paul Burmeister, Patrick Sharp and Anson Carter will anchor CNBC’s studio coverage throughout the Capitals-Hurricanes and Flames-Avalanche games.

(2) BOSTON BRUINS AT (3) TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS – GAME 3 AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – SERIES TIED 1-1

Boston evened the series against Toronto with a 4-1 win in Game 2 on Saturday nighton NBC. Brad Marchand scored the eventual game-winner and added an assist, while Tuukka Rask made 30 saves. Toronto’s Auston Matthews has been kept off the scoresheet and has two points (1g/1a) in nine career playoff games against the Bruins.

(1) WASHINGTON CAPITALS AT (WC1) CAROLINA HURRICANES – GAME 3 AT 7 P.M. ET ON CNBC – CAPITALS LEAD 2-0

The Caps took a 2-0 series lead with a 4-3 overtime win in Game 2 on Saturday afternoon on NBC, as defenseman Brooks Orpik scored the game-winner for Washington just 1:48 into the extra session. Nicklas Backstrom has scored three goals in the series for the Caps. Tonight’s game in Raleigh marks Carolina’s first home playoff game since May 26, 2009, when the Hurricanes lost to the Penguins in the Eastern Conference Final.

(1) NASHVILLE PREDATORS AT (WC1) DALLAS STARS – GAME 3 AT 9:30 P.M. ETON NBCSN – SERIES TIED 1-1

Nashville responded to a 3-2 Game 1 loss to Dallas with a 2-1 overtime win in Game 2 on Saturday on CNBC to even the series at one game apiece. Craig Smith scored the game-winner five minutes into overtime for the Predators, who outshot the Stars by a 42-23 margin in the game. The Stars went 24-14-3 at home in the regular season, but Nashville won both matchups against the Stars in Dallas this year.

(1) CALGARY FLAMES AT (WC2) COLORADO AVALANCHE – GAME 3 AT 10 P.M. ET ON CNBC – SERIES TIED 1-1

The Avalanche head home to Denver after a 3-2 come-from-behind overtime win in Game 2 on Saturday in Calgary. J.T. Compher tied the game with 2:39 left in regulation and Nathan MacKinnon scored 8:27 into OT to even the series 1-1. The Avs have won six straight home games dating back to March 17, outscoring their opponents 22-11 in that span.

In conjunction with Westwood One, NBC Sports Radio will broadcast game coverage of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs, including every game of the Conference Finals and the Stanley Cup Final. First Round on NBC Sports Radio continues tonight with Game 3 between the Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars.
