Stanley Cup Playoffs Schedule for 4/17

STAMFORD, Conn. – April 17, 2019 – NBC Sports Group’s comprehensive coverage of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs continues tonight with three Game 4 matchups across NBCSN and USA Network.

Tonight’s Stanley Cup Playoffs Game 4 doubleheader on NBCSN begins at 7 p.m. ET, as Brad Marchand and the (2) Boston Bruins look to even up the series at two games apiece against Auston Matthews and the (3) Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The action shifts west at 10 p.m. ETon NBCSN when Johnny Gaudreau and the (1) Calgary Flames look to avoid a 3-1 series deficit against Nathan MacKinnon and the (WC2) Colorado Avalanche at Pepsi Center in Denver.

Tonight’s coverage on USA Network begins at 8 p.m. ET, when P.K. Subban and the (1) Nashville Predators look to gain a 3-1 series lead when they face Tyler Seguin and the (WC1) Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Pre-game coverage begins tonight at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN with NHL Live.

(2) BOSTON BRUINS AT (3) TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS – GAME 4 AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – TORONTO LEADS 2-1

The Maple Leafs took the 2-1 series lead against Boston on Monday night with a 3-2 win in Game 3. Auston Matthews and Andreas Johnsson each recorded a goal and an assist in the winning effort. Maple Leafs goalie Frederik Andersen made 34 saves for Toronto in the victory.

(1) NASHVILLE PREDATORS AT (WC1) DALLAS STARS – GAME 4 AT 8 P.M. ET ON USA NETWORK – NASHVILLE LEADS 2-1

Nashville broke the series tie with a 3-2 win on the road in Dallas on Monday night. Mikael Granlund scored the go-ahead goal in the third period, while Rocco Grimaldi and Filip Forsberg also contributed goals for the Predators. Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne recorded 40 stops in the road victory.

(1) CALGARY FLAMES AT (WC2) COLORADO AVALANCHE – GAME 4 AT 10 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – COLORADO LEADS 2-1

The Colorado Avalanche took a 2-1 series lead over Calgary on Monday night with a 6-2 victory in Denver. Colorado defenseman Cale Makar scored in his NHL debut, while Nathan Mackinnonnetted two power-play goals and contributed one assist in the win for the Avalanche.

COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS AND N.Y. ISLANDERS COMPLETE FIRST ROUND SWEEPS, MOVE ON TO SECOND ROUND

Tuesday night brought the first eliminations of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs, as the Columbus Blue Jackets posted a four-game sweep of the Presidents’ Trophy-winning Tampa Bay Lightning, and the New York Islanders completed a four-game sweep of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

This marked the first Stanley Cup Playoffs series win in Columbus’ franchise history and was the first time in Stanley Cup Playoffs history that a Presidents’ Trophy winner has been swept in the First Round. CNBC’s 0.55 metered market rating for last night’s Tampa Bay-Columbus series-clinching Game 4 ranks as the highest Round 1 overnight delivery for CNBC/USA on record. The Blue Jackets will face the winner of the Bruins-Maple Leafs series.

The Islanders advance to the Eastern Conference Second Round after successfully sweeping their first Stanley Cup Playoff series since the 1983 Stanley Cup Final against the Edmonton Oilers. New York will match up against the winner of the series between the Washington Capitals and the Carolina Hurricanes in the Second Round.
