Confession time! I did not train at ALL yesterday. I had a rare day off, the weather was yucky and I was feeling a bit under the weather. I also desperately needed to clean my house. (okay, half the day was spent watching The Golden Girls on DVD, but I did get some things done!) Anyway, today was a catch up day to get my workout in. Today’s training session was a bit of a challenge. I was all set to do a run (4 miles was my goal) but disaster struck when my treadmill decided to crap out at mile 2.59! Another day, another Ironman prep session. Today was a workout at work day, but at least I remained VERY active, which is important. I must admit my eating wasn’t up to par because I was so busy (in fact, I was so busy I skipped lunch, bad Sammi!) but I did have a nice carb loaded meal and will balance it out with protein and other, better foods tomorrow. Today I began my first workout for the Ironman! I know it is a year away, but I plan to SLAY this thing and finish in less than twelve hours. So it begins! Not only am I training physically for the Ironman, but I am also working on meal and nutrition plans. I am usually a pretty healthy eater, but I also like the occasional treat and glass of wine.
