PITTSFORD, NY—The Buffalo Bills today announced that the team has hired Pat Meyer as the team’s football operations consultant. Meyer worked with the staff during minicamp and was hired at the conclusion of minicamp.

Meyer spent last season working with the Chicago Bears as the team’s offensive line coach. Under his tutelage, Bears offensive guard Kyle Long earned his way to his second career Pro Bowl appearance. Meyer also assisted with the Bears offensive line in 2013, when the team allowed just 30 sacks—tied for the fourth fewest in the NFL.

A native of Youngstown, OH, Meyer was a four-year letterman at Colorado State (1991-94)–earning all-WAC honors three-straight years. He went on to sign with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted rookie free agent in 1995 before playing in the Arena Football League with the St. Louis Stampede.
