Stanley Cup Playoff Schedule For 4/16

STAMFORD, Conn. – April 16, 2019 – The (WC2) Columbus Blue Jackets and (2) New York Islanders can become the first two teams to advance to the Second Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs with Game 4 victories tonight, headlining a pair of doubleheaders on NBCSN and CNBC.

Tonight’s coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET on CNBC, as Cam Atkinson and the Blue Jackets look to complete a four-game sweep of Steven Stamkos and the Presidents’ Trophy-winning (1) Tampa Bay Lightning. Game coverage on NBCSN starts at 7:30 p.m. ET, when Mathew Barzal and the Islanders attempt to complete a sweep of Sidney Crosby and the (3) Pittsburgh Penguins.

Vladimir Tarasenko and the (3) St. Louis Blues host Patrik Laine and the (2) Winnipeg Jets in Game 4 of their series at 9:30 p.m. ET on CNBC, immediately following Lightning-Blue Jackets, with St. Louis holding a 2-1 lead. NBCSN’s doubleheader continues at 10:30 p.m. ET when Mark Stone and the (3) Vegas Golden Knights look to build on their 2-1 series lead at home against Joe Pavelski and the (2) San Jose Sharks.

Pre-game coverage begins tonight at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN with NHL Live.

FLORIDA PANTHERS DEFENSEMAN KEITH YANDLE TO RETURN AS GUEST STUDIO ANALYST TONIGHT

Florida Panthers defenseman Keith Yandle will return for a second consecutive night to NBC Sports’ Stanley Cup Playoffs coverage as a guest studio analyst tonight. A 13-year NHL veteran, Yandle played parts of nine seasons with the Coyotes organization, including the first seven games of his NHL career during the 2006-07 season, when he skated alongside former Coyote and current NHL on NBC analyst Jeremy Roenick. Yandle was Florida’s representative at the 2019 NHL All-Star Game, and recently completed his third season as a member of the Panthers where he currently serves as an alternate captain.

MIKE TIRICO TO CALL GAME 4 OF ISLANDERS-PENGUINS TONIGHT ON NBCSN

Mike Tirico will handle play-by-play duties for Game 4 between the New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Tirico called the first two NHL games of his 30-year career earlier this season. During an illustrious broadcasting career spanning three decades, Tirico has served in lead play-by-play roles for coverage of the NFL, NBA, tennis, golf, college football, college basketball, and college lacrosse. Tirico will be joined by analyst Eddie Olczyk and ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Brian Boucher.

TONIGHT – APRIL 16 – NHL LIVE BEGINS AT 6:30 P.M ET ON NBCSN

NHL Live, hosted by Liam McHugh, Keith Yandle, and Keith Jones, begins at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Paul Burmeister, Jeremy Roenick and Patrick Sharp will anchor CNBC’s studio coverage throughout the evening.

(1) TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING AT (WC2) COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS – GAME 4 AT 7 P.M. ET ON CNBC – COLUMBUS LEADS 3-0

The Blue Jackets can win their first-ever Stanley Cup Playoffs series with a Game 4 victory tonight against the Lightning. Columbus increased its series lead to 3-0 with a 3-1 victory on Sunday night on NBCSN. Sergei Bobrovsky recorded 30 saves and held the Presidents’ Trophy-winning Lightning to only one goal. Nikita Kucherov, who led the league with 128 points this season, will return to the lineup for Tampa Bay after serving a one-game suspension in Game 3.

(2) NEW YORK ISLANDERS AT (3) PITTSBURGH PENGUINS – GAME 4 AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – N.Y. ISLANDERS LEAD 3-0

On Sunday, the Islanders moved win one victory of sweeping the Penguins after defeating Pittsburgh, 4-1, on NBC. Jordan Eberle scored a goal for the third consecutive game and Mat Barzal registered his fourth point of the series with an assist on Eberle’s tally. The Islanders will attempt to complete their first series sweep since the 1983 Stanley Cup Final.

(2) WINNIPEG JETS AT (3) ST. LOUIS BLUES – GAME 4 AT 9:30 P.M. ET ON CNBC – ST. LOUIS LEADS 2-1

The Jets won their first game of the series on Sunday night by a score of 6-3 to cut their series deficit to 2-1. Kyle Connor scored two goals and Patrik Laine scored for the third straight game to snap the Blues’ seven-game home winning streak. Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington allowed five-plus goals for the first time in his NHL career in the Game 3 loss.

(2) SAN JOSE SHARKS AT (3) VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS – GAME 4 AT 10:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – VEGAS LEADS 2-1

On Sunday night, Vegas defended home ice and took a 2-1 series lead when they defeated the Sharks 6-3. Paul Stastny registered five points (2g/3a) in the win and Mark Stone recorded the first ever hat trick in Golden Knights postseason history. Stone now has 19 points (11g/8a) in 21 games with Vegas after being traded from Ottawa. Vegas’ second line of Max Pacioretty, Stastny and Stone combined for 12 points in Game 3.
