Late Breaking News on Stanley Cup Playoffs

STAMFORD, Conn. – May 7, 2019 – NBC Sports’ exclusivecoverage of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs continues tonight with Game 7 on NBCSN at 8 p.m. ET, as Jamie Benn and the Dallas Stars look to advance to the Western Conference Final for the first time since 2008 with a win against Vladimir Tarasenko and the St. Louis Blues. Pre-game coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN with NHL Live.

Kenny Albert (play-by-play), U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk (analyst), and Emmy Award-winner Pierre McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from Enterprise Center in St. Louis.

DALLAS STARS AT ST. LOUIS BLUES – GAME 7 AT 8 P.M. ETON NBCSN 

St. Louis forced tonight’s Game 7 with a 4-1 road win in Sunday’s Game 6 on NBC. Jaden Schwartz netted his team-leading eighth goal of the postseason in the win, while rookie goalie Jordan Binnington – who will play in his first-ever Game 7 in the NHL tonight – stopped 22 of 23 stops. The series will be decided tonight in St. Louis, with a trip to the Western Conference Final on the line.

 

TOMORROW NIGHT – COLORADO AVALANCHE AT SAN JOSE SHARKS – GAME 7 AT 9 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

 

Colorado forced tomorrow night’s Game 7 with a 4-3 overtime victory in Game 6 in Denver on Monday night. J.T. Compherscored twice for the Avalanche in regulation and captain Gabriel Landeskog scored the game-winner 2:32 into overtime. This marks the second consecutive series that the Sharks will host a Game 7. San Jose defeated Vegas, 5-4, in a Game 7 overtime thriller in the First Round.

 

2019 STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS CONTINUES TO DELIVER LOCAL AND NATIONAL VIEWERSHIP MILESTONES 

The 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs continue to deliver viewership records and milestones. Following are some recent highlights:

Cable coverage (NBCSN, CNBC, USA Network) of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs through Sunday has averaged a TAD of 840,000, which ranks as the best cable delivery on record through this point of the Playoffs. Versus last year’s comparable coverage, viewership is up +9%.

The Second Round of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs to date has posted a TAD of 1.592 million across 20 games (NBC/NBCSN), which is the best Second Round delivery on record through 11 days. Compared to last year, viewership is up +3%.

Last night’s thrilling Sharks-Avalanche overtime Game 6 delivered a 9.1 overnight rating in Denver, making it NBC Sports’ highest rating for an NHL game in the market on record. San Jose’s 4.9 overnight rating for the game is NBC Sports’ highest rating for a Second Round game in the market on record. The Avalanche avoided elimination with the Game 6 overtime win, and forced a Game 7 tomorrow night in San Jose at 9 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

For last night’s Bruins-Blue Jackets Game 6 on NBCSN, Boston delivered a 14.3 overnight rating, while Columbus scored a 13.0. NBCSN was the number-one network in both marketsduring the game. The Bruins eliminated the Blue Jackets with their 3-0 victory last night, and move on to face the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Final.
