8/16 – Red Sox @ Yankees

BASEBALL IN HIGH HEELS: TV ALERT

Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees placed DJ LeMahieu on the 10-day IL.

A bullpen day for the Red Sox as J.A. Happ takes the ball for the Yankees.

Yankees strike first with three singles to bring home the opening run of the game. Aaron Hicks doubled to bring home Brett Gardner in the second inning. Yankees lead 2-0.

Kevin Pillar hits a homer off Happ to put the Red Sox on the board in the third and cut the deficit in half. Mike Ford answers with a home run of his own to drive in two and extend the lead 4-1.

Both sides settle down, with the Yankees threatening to add on in the seventh. Boston wasn’t done however. Fielding errors by the home team allowed another run to score for their rivals, however it wasn’t enough to build a rally on.

Yankees win 4-2 and take the series. One final game of the series on Monday.
