Product Spotlight: Raising A Hand
Although this site is mainly about sports, every now and then I like to switch gears and write about things that are near and dear to my heart. I recently spoke to Kevin Black and David Clements, two men with one incredible mission; to bring an end and find a cure for Rett Syndrome. This is a neurological disease that impacts young girls and sadly claimed the life of Kevin’s daughter Courtney.
In addition to fundraisers, TV specials and other similar events, the men collaborated and published a book called “Raising A Hand: A Photographic Music Festival With a Cause.” This book features several celebrities, including BB King George Strait and more raising their hands to show that they are representing a helping hand in bringing awareness and treatment, as well as a cure for Rett Syndrome. This is their way of letting the girls with Rett Syndrome know that they have a voice and it is being heard.
