TV IN HIGH HEELS: RED BULL TV’S THE HORN’S JT
Red Bull TV’s The Horn promises to be the most addicting new show this fall. Beginning tomorrow night, The Horn chronicles the serious, life-saving daily work of the world’s best air rescue team, Air Zermatt. Providing a real-life glimpse into the incredible team and their harrowing rescues, on the Matterhorn, The Horn sheds light on the most virtuous aspects of putting your own life at risk when saving others.
I recently talked to JT Holmes, a professional speed skier who is helping promote the show as a spokesperson and mediator. He says it is a very real and powerful show that shows people being rescued from horrific situations. I won’t spoil anything for you, but it is something you are definitely want to see. As someone who was once rescued himself, JT can relate to those being rescued. He also says he has a deep respect for the rescuers on the show. He hopes that people enjoy the heroic aspect of the show and see mountain guides and rescuers in a new light.
Another thing that JT loved about the experience was the fact that he got to train with the rescuers. He learned how they protect themselves and each other, something that he calls ‘simple, yet genius.’ He also finds it interesting how they rescue and focus on well being. This is something that we will see in each episode and that he hopes people can incorporate into their own lives.
