Hollywood is faced with sad news today. Luke Perry, who was considered to be one of the biggest heartthrobs of the nineties, has died. He was 52 years old.

As previously reported, the Riverdale actor suffered a massive stroke last week. According to TMZ, he was at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank and surrounded by loved ones. He was sedated following his stroke, but the damage was too intense for him to recover.

Luke is best known for his role as bad boy Dylan McKay on the hit teen drama Beverly Hills, 90210. He also appeared in several other shows and movies, including Body of Proof, Another World and most recently Riverdale, where he played Archie’s dad Fred Andrews.

His rep released the following statement to the media: The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world. No further details will be released at this time.”

Football in High Heels sends their condolences to his loved ones.
