9/6 – Yankees @ Orioles

BASEBALL IN HIGH HEELS: TV ALERT

Orioles start off with a two run homer off Masahiro Tanaka, giving Baltimore the early lead. Yankees answer with a run in the second as Erik Kratz grounds into a forceout at third, that allows Clint Frazier to reach home. The Yankees bats went quiet for the rest of the game while the Orioles continued to add on.

Luis Cessa takes over in the sixth with one out and two men on base. He loads the bases, gets Mason Williams to strike out, but issues a walk that forces a run in. Another hit by the Orioles and it’s 4-1.

The Yankees get a couple of hits in the seventh but can’t get anyone home. A sacrifice fly by Ryan Mountcastle lets another run score for the Orioles.

Orioles win 5-1.

The Yankees drop down to third in the division and are battling for a wild card spot for the post-season. They head to Buffalo to take on the Blue Jays for the first time this season.
