9/20 – Yankees @ Red Sox

BASEBALL IN HIGH HEELS: TV ALERT

A reversal of fortunes for the Red Sox as they appear to have Deivi Garcia’s number. Second inning, Jackie Bradley Jr. Doubles to left field and advances to third on a passed ball. Michale Chavis hits a home run to left center. Another single before getting two outs. A throwing error by Garcia in a pickoff attempt leaves the runner safe before getting out of the inning. 2-0 Red Sox.

Third inning, a hit, a flyout, and two more hits, the last one allowing Rafael Devers to score. A mound visit that doesn’t have the intended effect as Chavis hits another home run. A walk before the final two outs. 6-0 Red Sox.

Luis Cessa replaces Garcia for the fourth inning, getting a lineout and a strikeout double play to keep the score as is. He manages the fourth, only allowing two men on base.

Sixth inning, Tyler Wade breaks the no hitter against the Yankees with a double. He scores on a double play. 6-1 Red Sox.

More damage by Boston in the seventh. Bobby Dalbec hits a home run on the second pitch of the inning. Bradley singles and Chavis walks. A mound visit leads to a ground out at first, but advances the runners. A sac fly and a RBI single bring the score to 9-1 Red Sox.

Eighth inning, another home run for Boston, this time from J.D. Martinez. 10-1 Red Sox.

Top of the ninth, last chance for the Yankees to make an extraordinary comeback. Luke Voit starts off with a home run before two quick strikeouts. A walk and a single to put a runner in scoring positing. But a final strikeout ends the possibility of a run.

Red Sox win 10-2 and snap the 10 game win streak for the Yankees.

Yankees head back to Buffalo to take on the Blue Jays again.

Red Sox have Monday off then welcome the Orioles.
