Second inning, two walks issued to the Yankees after a fly out by Luke Voit. A single by Gio Urshela allowed a run to score, but no more as the Yankees end the inning like the first, grounding into a double play. Blue Jays get a triple by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. but no runs. 1-0 Yankees.
Third inning, DJ LeMahieu gets a base hit and steals second. Giancarlo Stanton reaches on a throwing error, LeMahieu to third, but Voit is unable to bring him home as he grounds out to end the top of the inning. Blue Jays come to bat starting the inning off with a single, a strikeout, and a walk before the Yankees hold a mound visit. Didn’t work in the Yankees favor as the next two batters get on base and drive in runs. Another mound visit and a strikeout before another single which knocks out pitcher, Michael King. Jonathan Loaisiga allows a run scoring double before finally getting out of the inning. 5-1 Blue Jays.
Fourth inning, Yankees go down in order. Loaisiga still on the mound and allows a double. Jonathan Davis reaches on catcher interference, and a walk loads the bases for Toronto. Two RBI singles, before a run scores on a double play. A walk, and a RBI double knocks out Loaisiga for Nick Nelson who ends the inning. 9-1 Blue Jays.
Another run in the sixth for the Jays from a Randal Grichuk home run. Both teams get a run in the seventh. Gleyber Torres scores on a groundout by Gio Urshela and Alejandro Kirk hits a home run. 11-2 Blue Jays.
Wilmer Font takes over pitching duties for Toronto in the ninth and immediately gets a groundout, a single, and a groundout. Gio Urshela advances to third on defensive indifference. Two walks load the bases for Mike Tauchman who hits a bases clearing double with two outs. But the comeback is cut short as Stanton strikes out.
Blue Jays win 11-5.
