Both teams allow a single base runner in the second inning.
Top of the third, two outs. Aaron Hicks works a walk before running home from first and crossing home plate standing up on a double by Luke Voit to deep center field. The Indians get a run of their own as Cole allows three hits in the bottom of the third inning. Delino DeShields crosses home plate on a double by Jose Ramirez. 3-1 Yankees.
Top of the fourth, Gleyber Torres walks to first and comes home on a double by Brett Gardner that lands just before the left field wall. Gardner reaches third, the ball dropped on a bad throw. LeMahieu connects with the ball, a diving catch by Francisco Lindor prevents it from going to the outfield, but the throw is late to first. All three runners are safe and another run scores. Bieber strikes out the next two Yankees to bring the Indians up to bat. Josh Naylor, who got a hit off Cole in the second, connects again. This time for a solo home run. 5-2 Yankees.

Onto the fifth inning. Gio Urshela gets on base with a base hit. Torres homers off the top of the center field wall. Bieber is knocked out of the game. 7-2 Yankees.

Moving to the seventh. Hicks works another walk and moves to second on a base hit by Voit. From there he reaches home on a sacrifice fly by Urshela. Voit comes home on a RBI single by Torres. Another pitching change for the Indians, but it doesn’t work out so well as Gardner launches the ball for a home run. 11-2 Yankees.

Ninth inning, Giancarlo Stanton connects for a solo shot. Indians down to their last three outs. Out one is a pop out. Naylor gets another hit, a double. Out two is a lineout to left field. Tyler Naquin gets a hit that allows Naylor to come home. Out three is a ground out.
